The start of the third millennium has coincided with a new and special focus on all that is natural, or produced using exclusively natural methods. This re-awakening of interest in nature and ecology has helped to revitalise the Bergamot industry, encouraging the growth of initiatives aimed at spreading and increasing the use of Bergamot in the therapeutic, cosmetic and gastronomic fields, as well as reviving lost or forgotten trades such as the artisanal production of Bergamot snuff. A clear and meaningful sign of this renaissance is the current project to open a Technical Institute of Perfumery directly connected to the one at Versailles. The Institute will aim to train top-quality specialists in the perfumery and cosmetic sector, in order to ensure the excellence of both the products and services on offer. The future journey of the Bergamot is already underway, and its name is eco-development.
